GIRL TALK

GUIDE TO GIRLHOOD

Brand Identity · Editorial Design · Digital Communication

Girl Talk is a youth-focused educational brand designed to support girls aged 10–16 as they navigate the changes and challenges of adolescence.

Combining audience research, brand strategy and visual communication, the project transforms important information about puberty, periods and friendships into approachable, engaging and supportive resources.

Built around the idea of a trusted big sister, Girl Talk creates a safe and relatable space where girls can learn, ask questions and feel understood.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Girl Talk began with the identification of a communication gap in how young girls access and engage with information about adolescence.

The initial proposal explored the target audience, existing educational resources and opportunities for a more engaging, accessible and youth-centred approach.

BRINGING GIRL TALK TO LIFE

From the initial proposal, Girl Talk developed into a complete visual communication system, bringing together educational resources, a digital platform and physical brand experiences.

Each outcome was designed to feel connected through a cohesive visual identity, approachable language and supportive communication.

THE GIRL TALK GUIDES

Three thoughtfully designed educational booklets form the foundation of Girl Talk, transforming important information into approachable, engaging and easy-to-understand resources.

Each guide explores a key part of adolescence:

  • Your Body — Understanding the physical and emotional changes of growing up.

  • Periods — Making menstruation easier to understand and talk about.

  • Friendships — Navigating relationships, boundaries and belonging.

THE COMPLETE GIRL TALK EXPERIENCE

Beyond the educational guides, Girl Talk extends into a digital platform and a collection of branded materials, including a customised starter pack, affirmation cards and stickers.

Together, these elements create a cohesive brand experience that encourages connection, confidence and continued learning.
